The Dandelion, as a for-profit cooperative, is technically able to offer dividends to its shareholders. However given the nature of the organization, it is very unlikely.
Most of the money generated by the organization through loan fees and donations will be required to administer the program. Once established as a sustainable entity, The Dandelion’s goal is to use all investment money toward client loans. Therefore, as an investor, your primary return is the 35% Equity Tax Credit
Although there is an outside chance there could be a small return down the road, think of Dandelion dividends as being an economically stronger community.
Investments used by the cooperative are controlled by the Dandelion bylaws.
